A Guide for International Student Admission –Undergraduate Program
I . Brief Introduction
Lasting for four years, the undergraduate program is taught in Chinese. Bachelor’s degree and graduation certificates are awarded to those who have finished all the required courses, got enough credits, passed thesis defense and met with other necessary requirements.
II. Qualification for admission
The applicant should be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport and also a senior high school graduate or with equivalent schooling in the age bracket of 18-30, be in good health, have an HSK certificate (level 4 or above) or the equivalent, obey Chinese laws as well as the school rules and respect Chinese customs.
Majors are as follows:
1. Martial Arts and Traditional Chinese Sports
2. Sports Training
3. Physical Education
4. Human Kinesiology
5. Sports Rehabilitation
6. Leisure Sports
7. Sports Economics and Management
8. Guidance and Management of Social Sports
9. Public Administration
10. Journalism
11. Dance Performance
NB: All international students applying for bachelor programs could study at Capital University of Physical Education and Sports (CUPES) for one year as a preppy if their proficiency of Chinese has not reached the admission requirement for professional learning.
III. Application Procedure
Applicants shall log on http://sie-lb.cupes.edu.cn/ and download CUPES Application Form for international students, fill in it and then submit it together with other application documents to School of International Education in CUPES: (1)by email to sie-zhaosheng@cupes.edu.cn; (2) by posting documents or asking someone to hand in.
Document Details:
1. CUPES Application Form for International Students (download online, print and fill in, attach a photo and sign by the applicant and the guarantor);
2. Senior High school graduation certificates and transcripts (those who are still studying need to hand in an expected graduation certificate and replace it with official high school graduation certificates after graduation);
3. Study plan;
4. HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) grade 4 Certificate and transcripts or evidence;
5. Two high school teachers’ recommendation letters with signature;
6. Passport copy;
7. Two passport photos (please write on the back of photo the name and major applying for);
8. Registration fee RMB 400;
9. If you are studying in China, please attach a transfer letter or a copy of the completion certificate;
★ If no special requirement, all above documents are required to submit original or notarized
★ Application documents should be submitted in English or Chinese
★ Registration fee and application documents are non-refundable
IV. Application schedule
The application begins every year in January. Application documents must be submitted before June 15.
V. Evaluation method
HSK scores, application documents, interviews, etc.
VI. Admission Notice
Every year at the beginning of July, the applicants may inquire for admission status and scholarships assessment resultsvia email or phone call to the school of International Education in CUPES.
Admission Notice and Visa Application for Study in China (JW202) will be issued to the admitted applicants in early July.
VII. Visa application and Registration
The admitted applicant should bring the Passport, the original copies of Admission Notice, Visa Application (JW202), and Foreigner Physical Examination Form as well as Blood Test Record to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China in their home country, and apply for a student visa (X1 visa or X2 visa). The student shall come with the above documents to School of International Education in CUPES for registration before the deadline indicated on the Admission Notice.

To encourage and subsidize international students with good academic performance and well complete their studies, CUPES provides several scholarships for them:

IX. Accomodation
If the student plans to live in International Student Residence Hall, please download and fill out the application form for accommodation to book in advance. In addition, international students can also live off campus, but must go to the local police station to register within 24 hours after arrival.
